Prior to our market research, I knew that there was a huge problem with the improper installation of receptacle boxes. As a homebuilder, installing boxes was frustrating work. The installation technique included on the boxes was not accurate, lumber was missing edges, and installing ceiling boxes was a guessing game. Just walking down an isle in a retail store with receptacle boxes, I saw several ways the industry was trying to fix the problem. Each solution was very time consuming and costly, or not effective. The RBI tool eliminates this problem simply and easily before it happens. This tool was designed to meet the need to install boxes easily, accurately and quickly. It is a unique tool that anyone can use the first time.

On average, there are over 100 receptacle boxes installed in a home. The RBI tool will cut the installation time in half. Many times the mistakes made at the installation level are not noticed until the walls and ceilings are finished. This creates costly repairs or unsightly and unsafe receptacle boxes.
The "quick check" feature on the RBI tool will let the installer know immediately if the box is placed correctly. Building inspectors will be able to use the "quick check" feature as well to check the installations.
